About Sam’s Tours
Sam’s Tours is an iconic, locally-owned dive centre and eco-adventure facility on the island of Malakal, in west Koror. This award-winning tour operator is a one-stop-shop for enthusiastic visitors to Palau, offering a full range of guided tours – from scuba diving and snorkelling trips to rock island excursions, land tours, sailing charters, and more!

The Palau Central Hotel is conveniently located in Koror, close to the restaurants and shops of downtown, and is the accommodation of choice for many guests diving with Sam’s Tours. This boutique hotel offers more than 50 state of the art rooms, including some with beautiful Rock Island views. Additional top quality facilities include a popular in-house restaurant, onsite gym, and swimming pool.
Located in Malakal, Sam’s Tours is open-air, spacious, and right on the water with magnificent views of the Rock Islands. The centre’s facilities are cosy, welcoming, and built for comfort and relaxation, incorporating a bar and grill restaurant with stunning views of the sunset. From here, guests can organise a huge range of activities, including multiple different kayak excursions, hiking trips around the Rock Islands, and snorkelling experiences in the jellyfish lake. Tours combining history, arts, and culture are also offered, visiting museums, aquariums, craft shops, and WWII remnants on the islands of Babeldaob and Koror.
Diving with Sam’s Tours
As a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Centre, Sam’s Tours comes well equipped to satisfy almost any diving desire. Full equipment rental is available on site, as well as secure lockers for personal gear. Restrooms with warm shower facilities, wireless internet, wheelchair accessibility, and complimentary morning tea or coffee are just a few of the extra conveniences. Of course, the training facilities are also second to none, featuring state-of-the-art teaching equipment and access to both confined and open water sites just a few steps from the classroom.
Sam’s Tours offers diving trips to all of the incredible dive sites around Palau and staff will always do their best to accommodate requests as long as conditions allow. Divers of varying skill levels can all enjoy their time here with the knowledge that some of the top diving professionals in the world are overseeing each excursion. And, more experienced guests can also opt to join one of Sam’s Tours’ unique diving expeditions, which include Palau’s famous spawning aggregations and blackwater night diving. Technical diving can also be accommodated, with twin sets, various sizes of decompression cylinders, and hang bars for comfortable decompression stops. Oxygen, helium, booster pumps, and sofnolime are available upon request.

Sam’s Tours is a zero trace operator and its staff are committed to removing its footprint from the Earth, leaving it better than they found it. As a result, no canned or bottled soft drinks are served on site. Instead, guests are provided with a personal reusable water bottle for the duration of their stay which can be refilled thanks to a triple filtration system which produces potable water. Lunches are prepared by local vendors and served in reusable containers.
The dive centre also strictly enforces environmental rules, including no touching or feeding of marine life, no littering on islands or off the boat, and a no gloves policy. Sam's Tours Logo Pro Shop is proud to be a certified turtle friendly retailer and offers reef safe sunscreen products and apparel from Prawno and Neptunic.
