The resort’s house reef lies right in the centre of a channel which acts as a primary entrance to the Atoll, meaning pelagics and fish of all kinds are plentiful. Every year between May and October, the atoll also becomes a hotspot for reef manta rays. Plan your visit during these months for a chance to swim alongside these massive ocean acrobats.

Conservation
OBLU NATURE Helengeli is a Green Globe certified resort. Sensitive handling of island ecosystems, sustainable drinking water solutions, supporting local communities, and other green initiatives are the norm here. Only biodegradable chemicals are used for cleaning in villas, laundry, kitchens, and other operational areas. The potable water comes from an in-house saltwater desalination plant and drinking quality water is sourced through on-site water bottling plants, served in attractive reusable glass water bottles.
The efficient waste management system is built around a ‘Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle’ approach. All resorts use twin-chamber incinerators for effective combustion of waste with minimal environmental impact. And, the use of state-of-the-art compactors and bottle crushers reduces the waste to a minimum before organised disposal. Equal importance is placed on disposing of wastewater responsibly, with an in-house water treatment plant. The treated wastewater is reused for irrigation and gardening, in an energy-efficient process.
