Explore the resort
Dining at CoCo View Resort is both delicious and convenient, offering a selection of home-cooked goodness including traditional Honduran fare, flavorful regional entrees, and plenty of local fruits and vegetables. The resort’s Clubhouse is where guests will find the dining room, bar, and outside dining decks. Here, guests can challenge your new friends to a game of pool or ping pong and access the internet. Additional seating is located upstairs, as is the TV viewing area, and plenty of hammocks with ocean views. Other facilities include a library, board games and puzzles, and an aviary.
Although Coco View is primarily a dive resort, it also offers some of the area’s most spectacular and convenient snorkelling. Everything that makes this dive resort a haven for dedicated divers, also makes it a snorkeler’s paradise – short boat trips, convenient gear storage, and a professional and friendly team. And, the DockSide Dive Centre offers a full range of snorkel equipment, including masks, fins, snorkels, and wetsuits. When you are ready for some pampering, schedule a treatment with one of Coco View’s massage therapists in the privacy of your own room, before retiring to the Clubhouse to be entertained by local musicians, dancers and more, on a weekly basis.
Diving from Coco View Resort
CoCo View Resort is known for being the easiest place to dive on the island and everything Coco View’s PADI 5-Star dive centre does is intended to make your dives extra safe and comfortable. Guests will enjoy unlimited, 24/7 shore diving and snorkelling along the reef in Coco View’s “Front Yard”, where they can find an incredible array of marine life along the renowned CoCo View Wall, Newman’s Wall, and the Prince Albert wreck – all within a few fin kicks from the Clubhouse. Or explore over 150 dive sites around the island, most of which lie within a ten-minute boat ride from the resort.
CoCo View’s fleet of boats consists of four 15-metre ex-navy boats that have been redesigned and re-powered for scuba diving, and a 14-metre high speed dive boat for more remote destinations. Rental equipment is available – including compasses, torches, and computers – and personal dive equipment is stored in large lockers on the dock, alongside clean water rinse tanks and showers, and a large camera editing room. CoCo View’s photo-pro also offers short presentations on the local underwater photography opportunities, with tips for getting more out of your camera and taking better shots. Nitrox can also be provided.
Conservation
Conservation
CoCo View Resort encourages guests to use their curiosity, skills and talents to engage in Citizen Science projects. These projects are sponsored by a wide variety of organisations so non-scientists can meaningfully contribute to scientific research. Topics include collecting data on seahorses, monitoring sharks, urchins, and turtles, tracking seagrass meadows, and much more.
As part of an ongoing effort to reduce plastic waste, CoCo View Resort has eliminated single-use plastics, added solar panels, and installed LED lights. For many years, the resort has also encouraged guests to fill their suitcases with pencils, crayons, notebooks, book bags, children’s vitamins, and more, which it then distributes to local schools and medical centres on Roatan. In doing so, the resort created the Roatan Children’s Fund – an island-wide program encompassing numerous schools, orphanages, medical clinics and educational centres.
