Onboard Damai II

The Damai II liveaboard is a luxurious vessel outfitted out with all the latest diving, navigation and safety equipment. She can comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in two spacious master cabins and five additional rooms with a choice of either single, twin or double beds. Each cabin boasts a private en-suite shower, air-conditioning, and a separate daybed for relaxation. Guests are free to dine inside or out, and meals include a range of gourmet western and Indonesian dishes served buffet-style or a la carte. Beer and soft drinks are available and guests can enjoy a free glass of table wine with dinner. This boat's three large sun decks, relaxing massage and spa treatments, and newly renovated spacious interior make it easy to relax in between dives. Little extras like satellite Wi-Fi capabilities and a designated spa room only add to the outstanding attention to detail.

Diving from Damai II

Specifically designed for divers, Damai II liveaboard offers a large dive deck with individual rinse tanks and two custom-designed high-speed tenders. This boat is a favourite among underwater photographers thanks to its dedicated camera room featuring separate workstations and integrated 110v and 220v charging stations. High-quality equipment available onboard includes dive computers, pony bottles and torches, as well as nitrox for qualified divers. Like its sister's vessel, the Damai II also offers a four to one guest to guide ratio and unlimited diving.

Day 1: Arrive in Maumere

Guests will arrive in Maumere and have time to get comfortable on the boat. We will depart once we have settled on the boat and head towards the island of Pomona for a checkup dive. Sloping reefs, a combination of sand and corals, and chances to see pygmies in the numerous fans that we will find along these easy dives.

Day 2: Tanjung Bacatan & Komba

In the north of Kawula Island, Tanjung Bacatan is a classic. A deep slope that gently gives way to a wall; passing Tunas, Wahoo, and other pelagic are expected to be spotted. After two dives we sail towards the volcano of Komba, active until very recently and always a beautiful sight. We will look for whales on our way.

Day 3: Solor

This is the only area that we know off were mantas have been spotted. Facing south means cooler waters and less visibility, but it also means more life, bigger fish: giant groupers, barramundi cods, midnight snappers, all sheltering in the sloppy reefs around the islands of Kambing of Nuha.

Day 4: Soangi & Waiwawong

Soangi is a small island well expose to the swells, its coral reefs are habitat of abundant life and whitetip sharks patrol in search of opportunities On the West coast Lembata amongst towering volcanos we arrive to Wai Wawong. This is excellent muck diving with a chance of seeing the elusive Rhinopias, Finger Dragonets, Ghost pipe fish and maybe even hairy frog fish.

Day 5: Rusa

This is a collection of 3 small islands in the middle of the current rich channel. Beautiful coral covered reefs with clouds of reef fish like anthias. This is the perfect day for looking out for large creatures; turtles, sharks, tuna, rainbow runner, manta, mola mola.

Day 6: Pantar Straits (West)

Beautiful walls of macro and wide-angle subjects. Clean walls, abundant life and the always cooperative smile of the local community, especially the children who will like to be your underwater model.

Day 7: Kalabahi

A change of underwater topography: A day dedicated to pure muck dive in the Kalabahi bay where we can look for wonderous, Rhinopias, Gosht pipe fish, seahorses. An underwater macro heaven.

Day 8: Batek

A small island on the border between Indonesia and Timor, protected by the navy, the island has impeccable corals and extremely abundant fish life, with large schools of jacks, bumphead parrotfish, and large groupers.

Day 9: Departure

Guests will be escorted to the airport in Kupang and assisted with check-in procedures, no doubt full of talk about the wonders of the most popular dive destination in the world.
