Day 1: This morning, you will fly from the mainland of Ecuador to San Cristobal, Galapagos. Our guides will be there to greet you and escort you to the yacht. After getting settled in, we will have lunch and briefings, followed by a check dive at Isla Lobos, where you can expect to see sea lions. We will then sail to Marchena overnight.
Day 2: Punta Carrion is located on the island of Santa Cruz and provides a good first dive to acclimatise to Galapagos diving. Sometimes we even get lucky and see mola molas here. Seymour is the next stop, and is known for having great dives. Sightings include mobulas, white tip reef sharks, Galapagos sharks, and sometimes hammerheads. The vessel will then set sail for the remote Wolf Island.
Day 3: Diving begins early to pack 4 dives into a 12 hour day. Sightings include huge schools of hammerhead sharks, Galapagos sharks, seasonal whale sharks, silky sharks, eagle rays, sea lions, fur seals, mantas, moray eels and dolphins. Some sites at Wolf are covered in coral and plenty of tropical fish species. Dive sites include Shark Bay, The Landslide, La Banana and Islote La Ventana. An optional night dive is also offered here where you can see garden eels and the red-lipped batfish on a sandy bottom.
Day 4: Today, you will have a full day of diving around the iconic Darwin Island, where we find more massive schools of hammerheads and huge, pregnant whale sharks in the right season.
Day 5: Enjoy 2 more dives at Darwin in the morning, followed by 1-2 more dives at Wolf in the afternoon. There is also an optional night dive at the Anchorage site. Anchorage has a sandy bottom where you may see garden eels and the red-lipped batfish.
Day 6: After an overnight sail, you will dive Cabo Marshall, located on the eastern side of Isabela Island. We will conduct 4 dives at two different dive sites here, where we will hopefully see mantas, large schools of barracudas, Galapagos sharks, sea lions, flightless cormorants, and enormous schools of black striped salemas.
Day 7: Search for seahorses, frogfish, octopus, turtles, and the elusive longnose hawkfish at Cousins Rock. It is also possible to spot pelagics here, including mantas, eagle rays, mobulas and hammerheads. We may do 1-2 dives here, depending on the mood of the divers. In the afternoon, we will head to the Santa Cruz Highlands to see the iconic Galapagos tortoise in its natural habitat.
After the Highlands, we descend into the largest town in Galapagos, Puerto Ayora. You may opt to visit the Charles Darwin Research Center in the Galapagos National Park or wander about town. We will then enjoy our farewell dinner at a restaurant in Puerto Ayora, before returning to Calipso and sailing to San Cristobal overnight.
Day 8: After breakfast, you will disembark onto San Cristobal.
